Sanctions are a frequently used method by imperialist, fascist, zionist, and monarchical regimes to destroy a target sovereign nation, steal its resources, and murder many of its people.
Additionally, sanctions act as impetus for infusing foreign terrorist invaders as well as provoking national traitors and saboteurs, which may result in harsh imprisonment of bad actors in order to preserve national security. The overall purpose is to create chaos and extreme hardship and poverty, even starvation or ethnic cleansing, even genocide, and even internal rebellion and civil war.
After the target country is completely wrecked, unappealing, and often repulsive to foreigners, it is easier for the culprit to fool its own citizenry that the destruction of the target society is necessary and advantages to all.
The intended results are often that sanctions will force regime change so that a new, nefarious and compliant regime will do the bidding of the empire. Don't be fooled, this is what is happening in Syria.
1. Economic Collapse
Currency Devaluation: Sanctions restricted Syria's access to international banking systems and foreign exchange markets, leading to a significant devaluation of the Syrian pound. This has caused hyperinflation, making basic goods unaffordable for most Syrians.
Reduced Trade: Trade restrictions on imports and exports have disrupted critical supply chains. Sanctioned industries, such as oil and gas, which were once key revenue sources, have collapsed, exacerbating unemployment and poverty.
2. Humanitarian Crisis
Food Insecurity: Sanctions complicated the import of essential goods, including food and agricultural inputs, leading to shortages and skyrocketing prices. Millions of Syrians now face Food Insecurity.
Healthcare System Strain: Restrictions on medical supplies and technology severely hindered healthcare services. Hospitals lacked essential equipment, and access to life-saving medicines.
Energy Shortages: Sanctions on the oil sector led to chronic fuel shortages, disrupting heating, transportation, and electricity generation, especially during harsh winters.
3. Restricted Humanitarian Aid
International aid agencies struggled to navigate the complex web of sanctions, often leading to delays in delivering critical supplies. Financial transactions for aid organizations were also stifled, further complicating relief efforts.
4. Exacerbation of Social Inequality
The elite and richer sectors of society found ways to bypass sanctions, often through smuggling or black-market networks, enriching themselves while the broader population suffered. This deepened the divide between the ruling class and ordinary citizens.
5. Impact on Reconstruction
Sanctions obstructed efforts to rebuild infrastructure destroyed during the conflict. Restrictions on foreign investments and construction materials have left cities in ruins, prolonging the suffering of displaced populations.
6. Psychological and Social Strain
Economic hardship and the inability to access basic services have contributed to widespread psychological distress, family breakdowns, and social disintegration. Many Syrians were forced into migration, facing perilous journeys and uncertain futures.
7. Combating Sanctions
Sanctioning harms the working and oppressed populations of the world leaving us all with potentially a dark and dangerous future. Sanctions are evil, and so are the foreign leaders who impose them on the ordinary citizens of a target country. Witness Syria today.
